Beyond Basic Cropping
Sometimes, a simple crop isn't enough. Bad lighting or old documents need restoration.
Brightness vs. Contrast
- Brightness: Makes the whole image lighter. Use this if the photo was taken in a dark room.
- Contrast: Make the darks darker and lights lighter. Use this to make text stand out against paper. This is the most useful setting for documents.
Saturation
Identity documents don't need vibrant colors. Reducing saturation (making it slightly grayish) often makes text more readable and reduces color noise (grain) from low-light photos.
Grayscale Filter
For official photocopies, Black & White is often preferred. Use our one-click "B&W" filter to strip all color, which also significantly reduces the final PDF file size—perfect for portals with a 200KB limit.
